Art

Love slow shutters - Especially in cities.

Best Friends.

Day Sixty Six.
Came home today for  the first time in 5 days.

My lovely best friend decorated my apartment. Not only did she not have to decorate, she didnt have to organize, and she didnt have to get me a cute dresser, picture frames, and bowls.
I am blessed to have a best friend like her.

Black and White images

Sometimes It's fun to just walk around and watch people. Personally I like creating this images black and white - and holding my camera by my stomach so they don't feel weirded out.. and it creates some interesting images.

Sixty Two

Day Sixty Two

Well today, we got up and went to the East Side of Portland. We had to take a taxi - but we were dropped off at a vegan breakfast place.

It was honestly the best breakfast I have had yet.
We then walked up a few blocks and went to the mall - which is three stories.
I work in a big mall, so I am not usually impressed, but this one even had an ice skating arena.. whoa.
After that we walked, way too long, to an organic, dairyfree - gluten free bakery and ice cream parlor.
It was.. amazing

In 2 years I haven't had soft serve ice cream. .. and Josh loved it too.

We then walked back the million miles we endured and ended up at a brewery.
We got a taxi back to our hotel, and now, Josh is passed out.
Later we'll get dinner and chill out.
Last night we got the best pizza I have ever had in my entire lifetime.

I need to move here.. fast.

^^ Back to Eden Bakery -
If a vegan believes in God, they believe that the Garden of Eden was made vegan - hence the name of the bakery.

Sixty One

Day Sixty One

Well today has already been packed with events. This morning Josh and I walked around the parts of the City we haven't been to yet. We went to Voo-Doo Donuts which was packed! But we got some amazing vegan donuts. After that - we happened to be by the Saturday Market - so we looked at a lot of stuff there.
After that we browsed around and landed at Whole Foods Market. I wish we had one in Grand Rapids. We bought some burritos (since they offer vegan Chicken... WHY CANT EVERY PLACE HAVE IT). We then went back to our hotel to relax and plan for the rest of our night.
Tonight we are going to go to a few Breweries and check some things out. Maybe go to a place for Dessert too! :)

Tomorrow we are going to the East side of Portland because it was highly recommended by some locals. Apparently its a more affordable side to live, and there are a lot of vegan things over there too! :)

Day Sixty

Day Sixty.
Yet first day in Oregon.

I can't tell you how much I love this city already.
I didnt really edit much of these photographs due to the fact that my laptop screen is not calibrated  and I will probably just edit all of them once I am home :)

Friday we got at the airport around 9 our time. Our plane took off at 11:50 and we got to Portland around 4:30. We took a taxi to downtown Portland where our Hotel is.
They have a 3 hour time difference, so that was weird. By the time we got settled in, showered, and ready to eat dinner.. it was only 3 here...

We were confused. However, our hotel is Vintage Themed. Love it.

So we walked around town, I took some snap shots (nothing too extravagant.. although that's coming later) and found an amazing Restaurant that was all vegan - holy amazing.

By the time we were done with that - it was 6 their time, 9 ours. We started getting kind of tired - but we decided to stay up and try to adjust for the time being to their schedule - only because we didn't want to wake up at 9 our time, be totally ready for breakfast, and have to wait to eat because it was only 6 here.

We went to a Brew and View- which is amazing. There we ate, and watched a movie... and I got to eat popcorn. Now, you make think "so what, popcorn." But I cant have butter, and to have movie theater popcorn.. well it doesnt happen for me.
But it does here.

We also went to a bookstore - Powells. THEY HAVE EVERY BOOK IN THE WORLD. I actually bought two cookbooks and two books on animal liberation.
That was day One :)

Drinking Fountain. So fresh and awesome.

Here comes day Two!
