Things that calm me down.

My life is crazy. And by crazy, I dont mean I just go to school full time. 

This is my usual day. Class - Work - Class - Work at my other Job. Somedays one of those work(s) are replaced with a photo shoot for a client - which usually involves at least 2 hours of editing as well. Then - there is homework. 

I am taking 17 credits.. This is my last stretch. The fact that I have time to market myself at all for photography is amazing.

However, I have some awesome people that do that for me without even asking. And I created a flyer to give to an awesome hair salon as well.

Now I get to stay up until one or two doing homework.

This is why I bought soy ice cream.

I literally had the worst of luck today. Nothing went right. 

Everything kept going wrong... and still at this moment - it continues.

I wont go into detail - but lets say that this bundle of joy made my day a lot better.

I was asked by a salon to make flyers so they could hand them to potential clients looking to book a wedding!

We all know I have an obsession with light.

This is one of my favorite lighting techniques that I NEVER get to use because it's unflattering and makes people look evil. The whole point of the lighting is to create a dark black line in the middle of the face - looks a little creepy. LOVE it. There are lots of photographers in our history that have done this to show the dark side of someone.

2nd photo is how to - I use a diffused light along with an open non-diffused light.

I like the look of a softer light on faces. (more flattering)

The best photographer rarely edits.
However, in this day and age... it is a necessity.

Its kind of like - going into the dark room and not using any filter for contrast, and never dodging and burning.

It's rare you can do that.

This is my way of filtering, dodging and burning, and adding highlights and shadows.

Well. We had a fashion shoot today. I'm not sure why I chose this photo as my photo of the day. Probably cause its silly... and I want the rest of them to get into my fashion album ;)
